Wrap a soft tape around his waist right in front of his back legs. Snug, with two fingers underneath. That's your number. If he's between sizes, go up.

Wash it twice a week, not twice a day.
Each band handles 2–3 marks, like a full daybefore it needs a wash. Swap to a fresh one, rinse the used one, air dry or quick dry. Two minutes.
No smell. The waterproof layer trap s odor instead of holding it nothing like a disposable sitting in your trash. Hit it with the included enzyme spray before the wash and it comes out clean every time.
Your dog stays fresh too. Take the band off, wipe him down with a grooming wipe, done. Ten seconds.
One tip: if he's long-haired, trim the belly short. Fur holds moisture, mats up, and gets uncomfortable a quick trim keeps him dry and comfortable, and the band sits flatter and grips better. Groomers call it a sanitary trim and it takes five minutes.
